A Dozen Stories for a Dime

The Pulp Magazines of the 1930s and 40s gave rise to tough private eyes, beautiful and often dangerous dames, thugs and nefarious criminals of every bent.  These, in turn, were a strong influence on the darkening tone of American Film.  Here are a few great covers from some of these precursors to Film Noir.

  1. So far, I have enjoyed each film we have watched in class and as hw more than what I thought I would. They all have an interesting story line; I also enjoy that they are not cheesy and romantic. They keep you guessing and some even keep you on the edge of your seat!
